Pharmacological Action:
KAS-Honisyr is a formulation containing expectorants, mucolytics, bronchorelaxants, and respiratory demulcents. KAS-HONISYR tackles both central and local provocations of cough. Kas-Honisyr soothes the repiratorytract and inflamed bronchial mucosal irritability and related mild bronchospasm associated with bronchitis and asthma. Kas-Honisyr facilitates easy expectoration while soothing the respiratory passages. kas-Honisyr exhibits mild antiseptic properties and therefore can be co-prescribed along with antibacterial or when cough due to bacterial infection is suspected. kas-Honisyr does not cause sedation and it is non-addictive as well as non-narcotic.
Vasaka: Active principle Vascine the extract of the vasaka relieves the irritable cough by soothing action and by liquefying the sputum, which make expectoration of easier. It also help in relieving haemoplysis.
Yasthimadhu: A controlled clinical trial was conducted on 92, randomly selected cases of post-operative traumatic inflamation following tonsillectomy with liquorice given in a dose of 3g three times a day in 28 cases. In another series of 24 cases oxyphenbutazone 2 tablet three times a day were given. On sequential analysis, anti-inflammatory response of liquorices was found to be equivalent ot that of oxyphenbutazone. The liquorices appeared to posses a more potent antipyretic and anti-oxydative activity in comparison to oxyphenbuttazone. Teh glycyrrhizinc acid drops were found to be effective both in acute and long standing cases o allergly. The trail was conducted on 32 cases. elieved cough, bronchial spasm and liquefied mucous. Yashlimadhu in kas-Honisyr acts as an expectorant, allowing mucus to be loosened gently. Chronic lung and sinus conditions will find relief from this soothing herb.
Tulsi: Urosolic Acid Thulsi is well known Demulcent, Expectorant and Excellent remedy for bronchitis, builds body is defence and reduces eipsodes of recurrent cough and has anti allergic properties. Kanthari: The extract of Kantkari is very sueful in fever, cough, asthma and sorethorat. Remove mucous blockage in the respiratory tract because of its expectorant action adn facilitates eavy breathing as it dilates respiratory passages (bronchodilation).
Gulbansafe: (Vioala odorata) contin on emetic preinciple name sviolin. It is very useful in cough and fever. Relives cough and throat irritation.
Talispatra: Taxis baccta relieves cough asthma and haemoptysis, Useful in wheezing cough and other respiratory disorders.
Kakrasingi: As per text from I.M.M. the galls of Kakrasingi are useful in cough phthisis, asthma, fevers, increase the want of apetitie, irritability of stomach other disease condition of respiratory treact it also suppress discharge from the mucus membrane.
Navsager: Navsager is an expectorant and relieves whooping cough.
